Overview

logworm is a hosted service that allows you to programmatically

• log information from your running applications,
• query those logs
• get reports, and
• react to the information in the logs

The 1-minute usage summary is:

• Data in logworm is organized into log tables. Each log table has log entries, which consist of arbitrary, schema-free key-value pairs.
• When you install the logworm gem in your application, it will automatically start recording logs of incoming HTTP requests
• You can use the lw_log(logname, hash) method to record entries into existing or new log tables
• logworm provides command-line tools (lw-tail and lw-compute) as well as web-based services to query and get reports about a particular log table
• The lw_query(logname, query) method allows you to run queries against a particular log table, using a powerful query language
